Emma & Ben held their wedding last weekend at Stapleford Park. This was one of those weddings I really look forward to because the happy couple didn’t want any formal group photographs at all. I love this because it means I can spend the whole day looking for nice natural images without worrying about organising this formal part of the day. We are extremely discrete throughout our weddings but the formal groups do require an organised and prepared approach. Even the best made plans can go pear-shaped, especially during a wedding where you have very little control (that’s the way we like it). But we have so far managed to always capture all the groups requested by our couples and quickly too. I hear at almost every wedding how the photographer took a lifetime to capture group after group. In their defence, the couple sometimes request 50 groups, and that is going to take way too long. We recommend 10-12 larger groups rather than lots of combinations and we reorganise your list to work through it in the most efficient way.
At Emma and Ben’s wedding I had an added complication in that Emma was extremely camera shy and didn’t want any formal or softly posed photographs of her either! This was a bit of a challenge even for me. There is a point where you tip over into ‘sniper’ mode, which can be counter productive if you get caught.
Even though Emma wasn’t keen I couldn’t leave them without at least one photograph of the happy couple and one with their beautiful girls. I know we all would have regretted it if I hadn’t.
I am happy to say we are the recommended wedding Photographer for Stapleford Park and we photograph many weddings there and all over Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Cambridgeshire. If you are looking for a wedding photographer or wedding videographer please get in touch.
