My first thoughts when thinking back to Julie & Craig’s Wedding last weekend was firstly how calm & relaxed Julie was and how this mood spread amongst her family and guests. Secondly it was a beautifully sunny day which was the first time I’d felt we were actually going to get a summer! And thirdly I was struck by how impressive the wedding venue was and I wondered why I hadn’t come across it before.
Staunton Harold Hall is incredibly grand. The three wedding cars rolling up the long drive to the front of the house was an amazing sight. I even had a quick chat with the owners who were very happy to be sharing their home with Julie and Craig. It’s clear that they run a very tight and professional wedding operation here and I’d easily recommend the wedding venue to anybody getting married in the Leicestershire area. Working on this wedding with me for the first time was Rob from Lux Technical.
I met Lux at the Burghley Wedding Show where we exhibit each year and they showed me some of their latest gadgets and gizmos they regularly use for their corporate work. Rob had something of a baptism of fire having not filmed a wedding before. It took him a while to recover but I’m happy to report he’s on his feet again now! Also working on the day was Ten Foot Tall Photography - I’m never impressed by suppliers who wear jeans to a wedding but if you’re a quirky photographer you seem to be able to get away with it!
Another first for me at a wedding was the charming presence of Emma Woodhouse otherwise known as The Wedding Reporter. Emma is offering a unique new concept in the bridal industry, offering a couture service to discerning brides and grooms who would like a literary legacy of their day. It was really interesting for me to see her discreetly observing the day and making notes. It’s like what we do but with words rather than images.
I’d also like to mention the Toastmaster Barry Balmayne who was brilliant on the day with guests and suppliers and after the speeches he said a few words himself which was so emotive and fitting with the rest of the wedding that I’ll be featuring it within Julie and Craig’s Wedding trailer. Lastly another feature I’ll be making the most of Which brings me nicely back to their wedding film which we are currently editing.
Julie & Craig’s Wedding trailer will be available on our blog soon but for those who can’t wait that long here are a few more stills from the day-
